Rhodiola rosea

Rhodiola Rosea by Alain Cuerriera and Kwesi Ampong-Nyarko, 2015.

The genus Rhodiola (Family Crassulaceae) is indigenous to Northern Canada, Europe and Asia where its rhizomes and roots have been used for centuries for medicinal purposes. Recent interest in the species Rhodiola rosea in the West arose from the use of the rhizome as an adaptogen for the treatment of stress, but in the last few years, chemical and pharmacological studies have confirmed other valuable medicinal properties. The book covers taxonomy, ethnobotany, cultivation, phytochemistry, pharmacology, clinical trials, toxicology, and commercial aspects; provides a meta-analysis of clinical trials and discusses experimentation in clinical practice; and examines the use of R. rosea in treating depression and anxiety disorders, for systemic functions, to augment cancer treatment, and in aerospace medicine. Hardcover, 304 pages. ON SALE
