Urgent action needed:

You already know that Greater Sage-Grouse is one of the most iconic and imperiled bird species of the American West. It has already disappeared from a number of states and provinces.

Now, in spite of the urgent need for conservation, the U.S. Congress has passed a bill containing a rider that prevents the administration from protecting sage grouse under the Endangered Species Act. Send a letter to President Obama today, urging his administration to oppose further delays in the conservation of Greater Sage-Grouse.

Dear

I thank President Obama and the administration for undertaking an unprecedented effort to conserve the Greater Sage-Grouse, one of the most iconic and fastest-declining bird species of the American West.

However, I am concerned that the process continues to be hampered, most recently by a congressional rider that makes listing the grouse under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) an impossibility.

Thank you for considering these comments. I hope you will do everything possible to ensure a future for this iconic bird that is so intrinsically a part of our history and of the American West itself.

Sincerely,
