As you may know, one year ago, I was diagnosed with lupus. Since then, I've decided to make lemon drops, lemon tarts and some lemonade out of lemons, and have become involved in the Lupus Research Alliance, specifically their Young Leaders' Board.
I’m excited to be participating in the Lupus Research Alliance New York City Walk with Us to Cure Lupus on October 13th - and hope you're able to join my team!
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that affects millions worldwide. Unfortunately, it's a condition that presents many complexities and barriers that have prevented scientists from finding a cure. Because no two cases are the same and its symptoms mimic those of other diseases, the exact cause of lupus is unknown and it is very difficult to diagnose.
As the largest private sector organization dedicated to advancing lupus research, the Lupus Research Alliance leads the quest to free the world of this autoimmune disease through the power of scientific research. The Lupus Research Alliance has committed $200 million to research, making it the largest private funder of lupus research in the world.
We couldn't be more proud to be supporting this amazing organization and participating as a team in the Lupus Research Alliance Walk with Us program. If you're interested in joining the quest to find a cure, we'd love to have you on our team! Click Join Team to be a part of our quest for a cure. But if you're unable to attend the Walk on October 13th, you can still have an impact on this important cause by making a charitable contribution. To help our team reach our fundraising goal, simply click on the team captain's name (to the right) to make your donation.
Whatever you give will go a long way! Since the Lupus Research Alliance Board of Directors covers all fundraising and admnistrative costs, 100% of your gift will be used to support the most innovative and promising lupus research programs.
