I RUN PROUD with T2.

Hey All,

In 4th grade I read a story about a person running the NYC Marathon and I fell in love with the idea of running that day. Of course things such as tacos and oreos got a bit in the way of that dream till 2014. BUT I am going to realize my dream this upcoming November and rejoin T2 to help raise money for HIV service agencies around Illinois. Please consider helping me realize this life long bucket list item. I know this is my fifth time running with T2 and my fourth time running a marathon...but this time is super personal. *please note what is my usual dramatic tone in that last line*. Finally, help me get back into the swing of things and help me run with Frostbite Running and Uptown Runners in the off season to get conditioned into a lean mean fighting machine...Ill bring snacks.

HIV and AIDS are not in the news much these days, but an estimated 28,000 people throughout Chicago are living with HIV and need equitable access to services, such as housing, health care and case management, in order to stay healthy. That's why I'm running with TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) in the TCS New York City Marathon on November 3, 2019. T2 is training me to cross the finish line while raising funds to support the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC), which connects people to the services they need and is working with other organizations throughout the state to get Illinois to reach zero new HIV transmissions by 2030.

In 2016 alone, 839 Chicagoans were diagnosed with HIV. While this is the lowest number of new HIV transmissions in years, many more still don't know they are living with the virus. I am committed to running 26.2 miles in November to raise awareness and eradicate the stigma attached to HIV, all while benefiting a cause I am passionate about.

Help me cross the finish line while helping thousands of people across Illinois! Donate to my T2 campaign today. Just click the DONATE TO ME button on the right.
