I am going to RUN PROUD with T2 in the 2019 Chicago Marathon!

I'm running with TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 13, 2019. YIKES! As I type this, I have never run more than 10 miles at one time. 26.2 miles is going to be quite the challenge, but I can't wait to tackle it!

I am running in honor of my friend Jimmy Smith, who passed away from AIDS related complications on 2/12/2011. Jimmy did not get the care that he needed to beat his diagnosis and passed away at the age of 31...leaving 2 young children behind. It is extremely important to me that I be part of the solution to ensure that doesn't happen to anyone else.

I am running in honor of a dear family friend who is currently living with HIV. We grew up together and I love him like a brother. He proudly served in our US miltary and is an overall great man. He is currently healthy and thriving, and it is important to me that I be part of the solution that keeps him that way for a long, long life.

I was inspired to run this marathon by my friends Zac and Matias on a visit to Chicago over Labor Day Weekend. They were both currently training for the 2018 Chicago Marathon with T2 during my visit. I joined them on a beautiful morning training run through Lincoln Park and it sparked something in me. Thanks to their unknowing help, I decided to get out there and do something to be part of the solution...Now, here I am!

I chose T2 as the group to run with because of Zac and Matias, and in honor of Jimmy. They have an amazing training program and even though I don't live in Chicago, I'm still getting all the support I need to see this 26.2 mile challenge through to the end.

Help me cross the finish line and help those with HIV/AIDS live better lives. Donate to my T2 campaign today. Just click the DONATE TO ME button to the right to get started.
