I'm running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 13, 2019, to save lives and put an end to new HIV infections in Illinois. I am running with TEAM TO END AIDS (T2), a team that's training me to cross the finish line while I raise funds for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). This is my second marathon and my second experience with T2. Help me double my impact to benefit a worthy cause.

HIV/AIDS doesn't make headlines often these days, but that doesn't mean it's been cured or that it doesn't change people's lives every single day. In 2015, 921 Chicagoans got the news that they are living with this incurable disease: a record low since the start of the AIDS epidemic in the 80s, but still, far too many than should get that news. AFC is depending on me (and you) to support people living with and affected by HIV. They are making sure that people living with the virus have equitable access to housing, health care, case management and other supportive services.

Working in an agency that provides vital services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, I see the immediate benefit of the funds that are raised. Any money donated provides transportation for patients who need to attend an appointment or need to get home. It means that individuals are able to receive vouchers to buy much needed food or personal hygiene items. Donations also provide individuals with the ability to access specialty services such as mental health or substance use support or receive much needed clothing items such as hats, scarves, gloves, and coats for the winter. Your donation benefits the men, women, and children whom I work for every day. I care deeply about AFC's work, and that is why I'm running 26.2 miles in October!

Help me cross the finish line, and help thousands of people across Illinois live better lives. Donate to my T2 campaign today. Just click the DONATE TO ME button to the right to get started.
