I AM RUNNING PROUD with T2!

Hi Friends and Family!

First off, thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page! On September 29th I am going to do something I have never done before... run 13.1 miles! I am writing this on July 28, 2019, and I just ran my farthest distance yet yesterday- 7 miles! I couldn’t have done it without my teammates. I am excited to run, but more importantly I am raising support for those living with AIDS.

Did you know... In 2018:

6,236 clients were provided case management services.

890 people were supported with long-term housing and supportive services.

We also helped 347 clients with short-term assistance, including one-time emergency payments, to help them stay stably housed.

60 trainings increased case managers’ skills about to remain highly effective working within in an ever-changing health care system.

81 voices were amplified by AFC through video, written, online and other mediums to eradicate stigma and celebrate individual experiences.

140 diverse and passionate advocates came together to fight for HIV lives in Springfield at Advocacy Day.

Would you consider donating to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago?

HIV and AIDS are not in the news much these days, but an estimated 28,000 people throughout Chicago are living with HIV and need equitable access to services, such as housing, health care and case management, in order to stay healthy. That's why I'm running with TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) in the Chicago Half Marathon on September 29, 2019. T2 is training me to cross the finish line while raising funds to support the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC), which connects people to the services they need and is working with other organizations throughout the state to get Illinois to reach zero new HIV transmissions by 2030.

In 2016 alone, 839 Chicagoans were diagnosed with HIV. While this is the lowest number of new HIV transmissions in years, many more still don't know they are living with the virus. I am committed to running 13.1 miles in September to raise awareness and eradicate the stigma attached to HIV, all while benefiting a cause I am passionate about.

Help me cross the finish line while helping thousands of people across Illinois! Donate to my T2 campaign today. Just click the DONATE TO ME button on the right.

With love,

Alyssa
