Edie Cheezburger's AIDS WALK
Welcome to My Page of Hope!
I am walking/running and raising awareness and money for the 29th annual AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run on Sunday, September 29.
I need your help! No gift is too small and every donation makes a difference in our community.
Together we can make a difference. Efforts are on going by AID Atlanta and other AIDS Service Organizations to increase HIV testing in high risk communities to ensure that undiagnosed people living with HIV are identified, informed of their status, and assisted with gaining timely access to HIV medical care, medications, nutritional care and other support services including prevention education and other direct services right here in metro Atlanta.
Did you know that the strongest concentrations of HIV/AIDS cases in Georgia are found in Fulton, Dekalb and Clayton Counties? And, metro Atlanta has the fourth-highest HIV rate of major US cities.
Your generous support makes it possible for to provide prevention education and direct services for people who are living with HIV.
Here's to helping the communities of greater Atlanta achieve a healthier lifestyle, fight stigma and moving the needle towards zero infections, by knowing your status and for hopes of healthier generations to come.
People from all walks of life will help to change the story of HIV in our lifetime. Thank you for supporting me with your donation!
**Did you know that in the U.S., 1 in 5 persons infected with HIV is unaware of their status? (Info: Kaiser Family Foundation)
**Talking openly about HIV can reduce the stigma that keeps too many from seeking the testing, prevention, and treatment services, and support they need.**
