ALS Clinics
A member of our Care Cordinator Team is always present when our patients visit a multidisciplinary clinic affiliated with our Chapter. We communicate and work closely with clinic staff as they provide ALS-specialized care and meet the needs of people with ALS. By partnering with some of the best doctors and medical centers in the state, we ensure that our patients have access to state-of-the-art, ALS-specialized care. These ALS clinics provide excellent care in a supportive family-oriented atmosphere, and many are modeled after the criteria of The ALS Association CenterSM program.
The Chapter is affiliated with The Emory ALS Center, The ALS Clinic at Augusta Univeristy and The ALS Clinic at Navicent Health.
ALS Association Certified Centers of Excellence set the national standard for ALS-specialized care. They provide state-of-the-art care through a team of people specially trained to meet the needs of those living with ALS. This unique model brings together professionals form multiple healthcare disciplines and allows an ALS patient to receive care from each during a single visit. A Center of Excellence team consist of a physical therapist, occupational therapy therapist, respiratory therapist, nurse, registered dietician, psychologist or psychiatrist, speech and language pathologist, and social worker. Certified Centers around the nation collaborate continually to enhance ALS patient care and techniques.
