Receiving a diagnosis of ALS is challenging and overwhelming. There is much to know, a great deal to consider, and typically a host of questions.
The ALS Association is dedicated to providing you and your family and friends with the information, support and resources you need to live a fuller life and to better meet the daily challenges of living with ALS. Through our care services department, our Chapter offers a comprehensive network of in-home services free of charge to people with ALS and their family members. Additionally, we have created a strong alliance with other not-for-profit organizations that are familiar with ALS and we partner with multiple local service providers to offer specialized services to people living with ALS. Through these collective efforts, our Chapter has created a continuum of care for ALS patients in eastern Missouri and central and southern Illinois.
Under a system of case management, our care service coordinators will meet with your family to assist you in navigating through the healthcare system, increase your functional independence, and help you to maintain control of your healthcare throughout your journey with ALS. We will also work to identify other community resources and ALS specific and general healthcare to support you and your family as well.
