ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Progress

In its 24th year, this annual tournament features 18 holes of golf, lunch on the patio and lots of great prizes. Registration and driving range open at 10:30 am with a noon shotgun start. Talk about your game with friends afterward while you enjoy cocktails, dinner, a live band and an extensive silent auction. You’ll also hear from a person with ALS and learn how your golf game makes an impact. Not a golfer? No problem! You can still purchase tickets for all of the post-golf auction separately so you don’t miss out.

You make an impact on people affected by ALS!

ALS robs people of their ability to walk, talk, write and eventually breathe on their own. It is a devastating disease that is 100% fatal.

In addition to supporting people with ALS with basic needs like in-home care, nutritional support and medical equipment, The ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter also works to fund new and innovative technological solutions that allows families to remain physically and emotionally healthy, together, safely in their own homes, and to help them live a life beyond ALS.

Assistive technology helps people with ALS:

Increase independence through speakers, bulbs, plugs, locks and appliances controlled through smart technology operated by eye tracking software or voice assistance.

Maintain connection with their family and the community with things like universal switches activated by any part of the body and a HeadMouse to use a computer without hands.

Give people with ALS a voice by providing communication through tablets with a text to speech app and a speech generating device with eye-gaze technology.

While we search for a cure, the Chapter helps people manage the incredible emotional, financial and physical burden of the disease with programs and services that helps families live every day to the fullest. Assistive technology helps support our mission and helps people with ALS connect, communicate and live independently.
