The ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter Caregiver Boot Camp program is designed to inform about the role of a caregiver, how to use common pieces of medical equipment, and provides an opportunity to ask questions to be prepared to assist a loved one living with ALS. Our professional Care Services Coordinators along with topic-related specialists will provide educational insights related to topics such as the role of a Caregiver, daily challenges, psychological aspects, mobility and accessibility needs, nutrition, respiratory care, and communication.

The virtual Advanced ALS Caregiver Boot Camp was developed for Caregivers who are currently caring for loved ones with ALS and are ready to discuss the advanced care needs associated with the later stages of the disease. Topics addressed include:
The Advanced Boot Camp was developed in response to the request of Caregivers for a higher-level discussion on the difficult roles and conversations Caregivers are finding themselves in, feeling vulnerable and unprepared. This Boot Camp may not be for everyone, as the nature of the topics may elicit difficult emotions.* For anyone who attends, we do have a Licensed Clinical Social Worker available for any follow-up support needed post-Boot Camp.
