Since its inception in 2000, the Walk to Defeat ALS has raised over $239,100,000 through fiscal year ending January 31, 2017, to support the vision of The ALS Association: create a world without ALS.
Your participation supports multi-disciplinary care to more than 15,000 people living with ALS through over 50 Certified Treatment Centers of Excellence and 65 Recognized Treatment Centers. Those who receive multi-disciplinary treatment live longer and have an improved quality of life.
Last year alone, we committed more than $19 million to support research projects all over the globe.
We've announced spending decisions to ignite 9 research strategic initiatives, including 2 new strategic initiatives this past year: ALS ONE-MAP and NeuroLINCS to advance progress towards finding treatments and a cure for ALS.
