Bucket of Miles Challenge

Thanks for visiting my page!

Your support really means the world to me.

In May of 2005 my father, Donald Coenen, passed away from ALS. My dad was an amazing man. He was the sort of person who never met a stranger because everyone was his friend. He was a role model to many young men in our hometown through his involvement in Little League and Boy Scouts. He loved being active and being out in nature. ALS took all that from him, and then took him from us.

I’ve signed up for One Dollar Difference for the ALS community because, together, our impact can lead to one day living in a world without ALS. The ALS Association is helping people all over the country living with this disease and pushing closer and closer towards a treatment and a cure every single day.

Now, this is where you and I come in! My fundraising effort is helping keep cutting edge research projects funded and ensuring people living with ALS are getting the proper care and support. Join the movement to cure ALS and put your dollar where it counts and help me reach my goal. Together, we will have a huge impact in the fight against ALS.

Thanks so much for helping my fundraiser succeed and supporting The ALS Association and its programs.

Now for the details!

Inspired by the famous Ice Bucket Challenge, I have created my own personal challenge I'm calling the Bucket of Miles Challenge.  I will be running in two half marathons (13.1 miles each) in October. The first is the Indy Half at Ft Ben on October 7th. This race is run on the streets at Ft Benjamin Harrison State Park. The second is the Tecumseh Trail Half Marathon on October 28th. Like the name says, this race is on the trails, specifically some very hilly trails in Southern Indiana.

Please support me by making a pledge either per mile (26.2 miles total), per minute of running time (estimated time to complete both races is 7 hours total), or any other amout. Every dollar counts!

We need more difference makers like you in this world to make it a better place. Please pass the page along to anyone else who is as awesome as you!
