Welcome to My Personal Page for Ride Across America!

I created the event to Ride Across America not only to fullfill my personal dream of traversing the country on a bicycle, but also to help raise awarenss and money to benefit those affected by ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal chord. You may have heard of ALS through the Ice Bucket Challenge that was quite popular a year ago.

I will start the ride from my home in Auburn, CA and end in Washington D.C. Barring any injury or accident, the 5 weeks I've alloted for this adventure should be sufficient. I believe I can make it, so there is no time like the present! My employer has aggreed to work with me on getting the time off, for which I'm thankful.

My aunt Bernetta Stratmeyer has recently been diagnosed with ALS. She is a wonderful woman who has always loved and treated me well over the years. Much research and funding is needed to defeat this disease, and I'm asking you to join in this fight and make a donation so that nobody has to suffer from it. Every cent counts, and 100% of your donation will go directly to the ALS Association and be put to wrok in its sole purpose of finding cure. Also, I'm not just raising funds, but donating as well.

Thank you so much for your time to read and learn more about ALS, and also for making a donation. YOU can help make the difference!
