I need your help. As a member of the California ALS Lobby Team, I'm participating in the ALS Association's CEO Soak to raise critical funds and awareness in the fight against ALS. Inspired by the 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge, the CEO Soak is a "Community Engagement Opportunity" for our community leaders to GET SOAKED for ALS. My colleagues and I have committed to taking a 90-second ice bath plunge on the west steps of the State Capitol on June 6th. Please donate or join our team!
People with ALS can go from perfectly healthy to quickly being unable to move, swallow, or breathe. It can strike anyone at any time and there currently is no cure. The ALS Association is the only national nonprofit organization fighting ALS on every front. Your gift helps us continue providing hope and support to the ALS community through advocacy, care services and research while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
As an advocate for those impacted by ALS, I am going to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to help the ALS Association make ALS a livable disease until we can cure it. Please donate to my fundraising page and join us on June 6th at 10:30am at the State Capitol to make a splash for ALS. Thank you!
ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs up to $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS, and every 90 minutes someone dies from it. These facts are why we need you to make a splash in the fight against ALS today.
