I’m volunteering to get soaked at the Pittsburgh CEO Soak on August 8th at the PPG Place Fountain. Proceeds go to the ALS Association so I’m volunteering in memory of and in support of Mike Lako. Mike was an excellent, well-liked MBM carpenter who unfortunately had this terrible disease and passed away on Christmas Day 2021 at the young age of 36. Mike and his wife Nicole have two daughters, Francine and Violette.
The CEO Soak raises money to provide local families living with ALS no-cost services like durable medical equipment, multidisciplinary clinics, transportation to med-ical appointments, home visits with specialists, and much more. Your donations will also fund local, state-wide, and national advocacy as well as innovative research for a cure. If you would like to make a donation please click here. We greatly appreciate your support.
ALS is a fatal neurodegenerative disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with the muscles. People with ALS lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually breathe. Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS, and every 90 minutes someone dies from it. And with an average life expectancy of just two to five years, time is not on the side of those who are diagnosed.
These facts are why I need your support to help me hit my goal.
Please join me in making a tax-deductible donation to provide care, durable medical equipment, financial support, and resources to people living with this disease.
I greatly appreciate your support in reaching my goal.
