Pam's 50th Anniversary Celebration

To my dear family, friends and neighbors,
I lost my dear, sweet Jim 9+ years ago to ALS. To continue the fight against ALS, I will be cycling 50 miles on Saturday, October 26th, in celebration of what would have been our 50th wedding anniversary.
My hope is to raise $25,000. To entice everyone to donate, I will be matching all donations, with a total goal of $50,000 to the ALS Association.
I'm asking YOU, and almost everyone I've ever known, to please support me in this once in a lifetime fundraiser and help me make a difference in the ALS fight. Please make my anniversary celebration one to remember by giving the gift of hope one dollar at a time.
So many of you have been so generous in the past and I'm hopeful you can find just a few more dollars to help me as I complete this ride. One never knows which dollar will be the one to make a difference, so any amount you can donate is truly appreciated.
Jim always had a zest for life, and I have done my best since his passing to continue to enjoy all the things he would have wanted to do. While he was living with ALS, he always stayed positive and smiled throughout his ordeal despite the fact there was no hope for any treatment or cure. During Jim's ALS journey, we often made pacts when he lost another function and would say '"if the disease stops here, we can easily live with this." We made many of these pacts and unfortunately for us, and all the others who have lived through this disease, ALS does not stop.
Since 2014 when Jim was able to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, many new discoveries have been made in the fight against ALS. There still is no cure, but there are some new drugs that help delay the speed at which ALS progresses. More importantly, much more support is now provided to families living with ALS. I'm hopeful that funds raised through my bike ride can help people all over the country living with this disease and push closer towards a long-term treatment and a cure.
The ALS Association's goal is to make ALS livable for everyone, everywhere, until it is cured. Thanks in advance for helping me raise funds to help achieve this goal.
Please pass this page along to anyone else who is as wonderful as you!
Love,
Pam
