Since Lou Gehrig's courageous speech in 1939, the game of baseball has long been a vehicle of hope for a future without ALS. Gehrig's speech brought attention to ALS, raising awareness about the condition and its devastating effects. This helped pave the way for increased research and understanding of ALS.
To honor his name, The ALS Association partners with varsity high school teams across NY state to raise critical funds and awareness for ALS. Consider donating to help our teams hit their goal of $1,000 so they can play at NBT Bank Stadium in the 2024 Strikeout Lou Gehrig's Disease Classic.
Your support will allow The ALS Association to continue leading the fight against ALS in research, and advocacy nationwide. Your donation will also help the ALS Association support over 395 Central New York families currently battling ALS by providing access to accredited ALS clinics, support groups, equipment loans, grant resources, caregiver respite, and more.
