Appalachian Trail Hike for ALS
Hi! Welcome to my 2024 Appalachian Trail thru-hike attempt. Beginning in spring of 2024, I hope to hike 2,198 miles - Northbound! - from Springer Mountain, GA to Mount Katahdin, ME.
I hope to use my hike to raise awareness of ALS and to generate support for the ALS Association. The ALS Association, whose goal is "to make ALS livable for everyone, everywhere, until it is cured," provided invaluable assistance to my family throughout my dad's journey with ALS in 2014 and 2015.
What is ALS? Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. There is currently no cure. Your support will allow the ALS Association to continue leading the fight against ALS in research, advocacy, and care services nationwide.
Thank you in advance for your support of the ALS Association - and for your support of my Appalachian Trail journey!
