Honoring Larry Koomler
Thank you for taking the time to view our dedication page to my Uncle Larry.
Trying to describe my Uncle Larry in only a few words is near impossible. He was unlike any other person you would meet. He was charismatic, caring, kind, funny, and he deeply loved everyone who came into his incredibly large bubble.
He was the type of person who befriended anyone he met, and made a serious, positive impact to the people who were lucky enough to know him.
Many of our family’s memories of our Uncle Larry are of him following everyone around with a camera taking pictures or interviewing people; being the silliest in the room in which ever way he could; sharing stories with his family and friends of all the ridiculous things he did when he was younger; and of loving his wife Chris and son Brandon so wholly and deeply.
Creating this fundraiser to donate to the research of ALS in my uncle Larry's honor, is something that I know would mean the world to him. My uncle's passion was being involved in his community and showing love and support to people that need it the most. Because of his outpouring of love and kindness, anyone who came across him, loved him and felt loved by him. During the last few weeks and days of his life, his phone was constantly ringing and visitors frequently coming by from all over, to pay their respects and say goodbye to their dear friend one last time. To say he is going to be missed is an understatement of a lifetime to so many.
This disease took him from our family far sooner than we ever wanted and there will no doubt be a Larry sized whole in our hearts without his presence.
Larry took his diagnosis head on and with the love and support of his wife and family, was able to continue to find some sense of humor in all of the ugly that ALS unfortunately befalls on those who are effected by it. There is no sugar coating this disease, and I am happy to know that Larry's suffering did not have to go on much longer.
Having this honorary donation account, allows his family to let his serving legacy live on in hopes to help other's with this disease and their families to find a way to cope.
Thank you to anyone who is able to make any kind of donation in honor of my Uncle Larry. May his altruistic legacy live on.
We miss you Larry.
