Mark Garlock's Birthday ALS Association Fundraiser

Please join me in celebrating my 68th birthday by making a donation to the ALS Association.

In April of this year, I was diagnosed with ALS. For those of you who are not familiar with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease), it is a progressive disease that affects motor nerves, causing muscle weakness and eventually paralysis. This disease varies greatly from person to person. In my case, the disease started in my lower limbs. I use assistance when I stand, walk and climb stairs, trying to keep active every day.

Your contribution will support the mission of the ALS Association, which is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest. The local Care Services Coordinator provided Carmel and me with information, offered a home accessibility assessment, and told us of the research currently underway. Our meeting with her gave us hope.
