My name is Craig McElhose and I am participating in Team Challenge ALS to raise funds and awareness to help fight back against this terrible disease that has affected my family personally. My father, Charles McElhose Sr., suffered with ALS the last years of his life. Throughout all the difficulties he endured, ALS.org provided necessary items essential to his daily life as it was changing. The ALS Association provides much needed patient services resources, funds global, cutting edge research, and much more in order to help those living with ALS right in our community.
Although my father passed away in 2022, I continue to support ALS.org by participating in this event each year. They helped my family so much, I just want to pay it forward as much as possible. ALS takes away the things from a person that many people take for granted in everyday life. Walking, holding something on your own, the ability to speak, chew and eat food and so many more things make this so devastating for people with ALS and what their families have to endure to help. Team Challenge ALS is an opportunity for me to work together with friends and family to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency of the cause and to push for treatments and a cure.
Challenging ALS is important to me and many others. I'm humbly asking for your help. Please make a donation no matter how small. Any amount helps and I ask that you do so in memory of my father whom I loved dearly.
