Yes - it's that time of year again. Our ALS Ride to Defeat ALS will be held this year on Saturday October 26that in Clermont, FL.
As you have heard from me before - ALS is an orphan disease - some of the drug companies don't want to spend millions of dollars to find a treatment or cure for a disease that only has 30,000-40,000 people suffering from it at any given time. There are, at any given time, over 1600 patients in Florida alone suffering with this horrific and deadly disease. Every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes someone dies from ALS. We have to keep fighting and raising these valuable funds to support our ALS patients here in Florida, so anything you can do to help is appreciated.
I've promised Doug and so many others (too many who have already passed on), that I will continue for fight for awareness, treatments and eventually a Cure for this horrific disease.
