Hello to all family and friends. I am once again biking 25 miles to help raise awareness and funding for ALS. This years' ride is on Saturday October 26th. As many of you know, I had a good friend of over 30 years who had this dreaded disease. Some of you may know him, his name is Bob Inman. Bob was a friend and a mentor of sorts since I met him and worked with him at Summersalts in 1985. He and his wife Jeannie retired to Naples, FL where I live. Unfortunately, Bob passed away on April 30th of 2018 due to ALS. Despite Bob's passing I vowed to continue to help to raise money to fight ALS and find a cure.
Some of you have likely known or know someone that has ALS. As I have found out since taking a closer look, it is severely overlooked and underfunded in the medical industry. It begins with awareness. Please take a few minutes out of your busy day to learn about this disease if you are unfamiliar with it. I believe after that you will begin to understand the magnitude of the disease and its affects on all those inflicted.
To update those of you who are familiar with this fundraising effort I commit to, this is the 12th year in a row that I will be riding to raise money to combat this horrible disease. Each year I have raised my financial goal and people like you have helped me reach or come close to achieving it. I'm not sure of the exact total through the first 11 years, but I believe it is over $43,000, for that I thank you all. Many of you receiving this have donated multiple times over the years and if you are able to again, I'm very appreciative for that. I do plan on continuing to participate in this fundraiser for years to come so if you are not able to make a donation I understand.
I was fortunate to be able to spend time with Bob the day he passed. I/we all take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering from ALS, but there are many people who are and unfortunately many who still will endure this hardship until we find a cure and improve on the quality of life of those afflicted.
The money I hope to raise goes to the ALS Association of Florida.
Thank you for your help in exceeding my goal.

I'm participating in the Ride to Defeat ALS to raise much needed funds for The ALS Association. They provide patient services resources and fund global, cutting edge research.
This ride is an exciting opportunity for us to work together to support those affected by Lou Gehrig's Disease and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
I'm asking for your help. Please make a donation, join my team, or sign up to be a volunteer today.
