This is for my dad. He was the strongest man I knew. He was honorable, intelligent, defiant in the face of adversity, generous, loving and funny. This sickness took his dignity, his strength, and ultimately his life.
When he got diagnosed, I told him that as long as there was breath there was also hope, and I meant it. While his last breath has long since past, mine is still around, and this is my first step in reclaiming some of my father’s dignity.
Organizations like this, made it so that my father could communicate with us through the availability and the use of technology, while his body had failed. He got time to take care of my mom, and time to show me what a true husband and father really was.
The Ride to Defeat ALS is an opportunity for us to work together to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency of our cause and to push for treatments and a cure. More personally.. Through your help I hope to honor my father by making the lives of others that are fighting this a little more bearable, and contributing to ending this silent killer.
I'm asking for your support. Whether it be a prayer, sharing this link, or donating a buck. Everything helps!
My father is gone, but he will ride with me.
