In Linda's Memory-15 years gone
Once again, I will be riding in my late wife, Linda's memory, co-leading Team Linda & Marvin.
Linda passed away at home at age 53, on July 9, 2007 after living with ALS for 3 years. It is really hard to believe that 15 years have passed by and this is my 17th year participating in the Ride. Linda was a strong person with great character and handled this science fiction-like disease with grace, dignity and a contagious positive spirit. She treated ALS as just another adventure in her life, although not one of her choosing. Our cycling team rides in her memory with the hope that properly funded research will help find treatments and a cure for ALS.
We are ready for a real, in-person ride in Napa this year. I will ride the 65 mile challenge route with some good climbs and great scenery but the real challenge is to raise more funds to combat ALS, an insidiuous disease that remains underfunded.
I appreciate any donations made to the ALS Association on this web page.
If you are interested in reading more about Linda or viewing a more in depth visual chronology of her life, go to this web link. Some photos have been updated since last year as i find treasures in my slide collection.
