On September 11, 2022, I will have the privilege of participating in the Team Challenge ALS Triathlon. The original event was to take place in Hawaii yet, due to COVID, that event was postponed to February 2022. I have decided not to participate in the Hawaii event as I feel the challenge is not enough. Therefore, I will be participating in the half Ironman in Santa Cruz . This event is to raise funds to help the ALS community and its efforts to create a world without ALS. I would be honored if you would consider participating in the Triathlon with me – at least in spirit – by contributing $50, $100 or whatever you can to the Golden West Chapter of the ALS Association by donating online at http://webgw.alsa.org/goto/drjohnsherman. Your gift is tax deductible, and your generosity will help in the efforts to find a cure for this dreadful disease.
At AAATLC Healthcare, our professional caregivers help patients and their families deal with some of the most severe and heart-breaking medical conditions imaginable. One such condition is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) – a progressive neurological disorder which results in deteriorating muscular control and an average lifespan of 2-5 years after diagnosis.
The ALS Association Golden West Chapter serves 31 counties in California and the State of Hawaii, supporting individuals with this horrible affliction and their loved ones, and providing funding for research into advanced treatment modalities, and hopefully someday, a cure.
And that's why I’m competing – for those who can’t. My personal fundraising goal is $2,500, and I hope you’ll help me reach it.
Thank you so much for your support. I will think of you proudly as I swim, cycle, and run in your honor.
Sincerely,
Dr. John G. Sherman
Executive Director, AAA TLC Health Care
