I'm asking for support for a cause that is very close to my heart....
As many of you know, my dear friend Gayle Jacobs was diagnosed with ALS 6 years ago. If you have had the priveledge of meeting her, you know she is truly an amazing person. She's so funny, kind, and has the most positive outlook despite her disease . Even before her diagnosis she would say " Life is short... eat the cake, drink the wine." After her diagnosis her mantra has been "Quality of Life Trumps All"
Why Your Help Matters...
Also referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly takes away the body's ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. There is currently no cure for the disease with life expectancy averaging 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Gayle is on YEAR 6 thanks to the research and help the ALS Association has provided. Gayle is not completely paralyzed but needs 24/7 care. Despite that unfortunate reality, Gayle was able to visit Niagra Falls last year! She is still living a good life despite her unthinkable diagnosis. The ALS association has provided the equipment/supplies to make that happen for her....because of YOUR donations!
On May 18th, I will be participating in the SuperHero 5K/10K Dash, an event designed to raise funds in support of those with living with ALS. I am reaching out to you because I need your help to reach my personal fundraising goal.
Please consider the difference that you might be able to make in the lives of people affected by this disease, including Gayle. Join me at Harriet Island on May 18th or make a donation!
Help make a difference and donate today by clicking on the Donate key. Most importantly.... EAT THE CAKE and DRINK THE WINE because QUALITY OF LIFE TRUMPS ALL!
Thank You!
Cyndi
