Running to Support #TeamNadia!

Please Support #TeamNadia!

Aimee is one of the kindest and most generous people I know. She brings her whole heart to everything she does and makes everyone around her feel loved, supported and extra special. Aimee's daughter in law, Nadia, was recently diagnosed with ALS. Nadia is a young mom of two beautiful children and as you can imagine, her whole world has turned upside down with this diagnosis. My cousin Dave, passed away several years ago after battling ALS. Our family watched as a healthy, active man slowly lost function in his body and he died earlier than he should have.

I will be participating in the SuperHero 10K Dash, an event designed to raise funds in support of those with ALS, as part of #TeamNadia on May 20th. I am reaching out to you because I need your help to reach my personal fundraising goal to help people like Nadia & Dave live their fullest lives possible with dignity and love. Together, we can support those living with Lou Gehrig's Disease while spreading awareness of the urgency to find treatments that will lead to a cure.

Why Your Help Matters

Also referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly takes away the body's ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. There is currently no cure for the disease with life expectancy averaging 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.

Due to the rapid progression of ALS, the needs of someone living with the disease evolve rapidly over a short period of time. Often times insurance does not cover durable medical equipment, so The ALS Association utilizes a loan pool that allows people to access equipment at no charge. Caregivers often need a break, so The ALS Association pays for skilled home care workers to give those caregivers time. The ALS Association also provides augmentative communication devices that are critical when someone's ability to speak has been compromised.

I invite you to support my fundraising efforts for people like Nadia and Dave. Help make a difference and donate today by clicking on the Donate key. Your gift will make you a hero in the lives of others. Any amount is welcome and gets us closer to our goal.

Thank you for your kind consideration!
