I’ve committed to running 13.1 miles in the Denver Rock N’ Roll Half Marathon to raise awareness and funds for the ALS Association. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease that destroys the ability to move. I couldn’t (or rather, don’t want to) imagine losing my ability to pet my cat, tell my partner, “I love you, good night,” run endurance races, and carry out the simple tasks of inhaling and exhaling.
I’m currently an undergraduate student on a pre-med track. I joined the ALS Association Team because when I eventually earn the opportunity to practice medicine, my hope is that an ALS diagnosis will no longer equate to death in an average of 2-5 years.
Challenging ALS is important and I'm asking for your help. Donations contribute to funding research, financial help for those living with ALS, and political advocacy. Please make a donation, join my team, or sign up to be a volunteer today.
