Who can participate in the SuperHero Dash?

Anyone and everyone can become part of the fight against ALS by joining the SuperHero Dash. The route is wheelchair accessible and activities include something for all ages!

Is there a fee to participate?

Each participant pays a registration fee to secure their place in the ALS SuperHero Dash. The fees help cover the costs of permits, race management, and the running shirt for each participant. Registration fees are tax-deductible.

5K Runners/Walkers: $45

10K Runners: $45
Kids Dash: $15

What is a Dash team?

A Dash team includes anyone and everyone who wants to join in the effort to raise money for care services programs and ALS research. Family members, friends, neighbors, coworkers, children and adults create teams. More team members means an increased opportunity for fundraising and increased awareness of ALS.

What is a team captain?

A team captain is the lead organizer and motivator for a Dash team. Team captains are responsible for recruiting people to join their team, naming their team, setting a team fundraising goal and continually communicating with and encouraging team members prior to and during Dash Day. Team captains are The ALS Association’s primary contact and liaison; he/she will receive ongoing information and updates from our office during the months leading to Dash Day.

What is an individual participant?

Anyone can participate in the ALS SuperHero Dash as an individual participant. People who choose to participate as individuals do not belong to a specific team; rather, individuals choose to participate as a single member. Along with hundreds of other participants, individuals will attend Dash Day and collect donations by using their "Participant Center" tool or other fundraising methods.

What is a virtual participant?

Virtual participants differ from individual and team members in that there is no registration fee, no shirt is received and they do not attend Dash Day. Virtual participants can register for free and raise donations like all other participants. This is a great option if you can’t attend the SuperHero Dash but want to contribute to the cause.

How do I register for the Dash?

Registering for the SuperHero Dash is quick, easy and can be done from the comfort of your home. Decide if you plan to captain a team, participate on a team, run as a solo SuperHero or fundraise as a virtual participant. Select the correct registration type and complete the online form.

Are dogs allowed at the Dash?

Friendly dogs are permitted at the event and on the route. We ask that you clean up after your dog and ensure they are always leashed. Please be considerate of runners and those with mobility devices.

What is the League of Champions?

Participants that fundraise or donate a total of $350 or more, qualify for the League of Champions. League of Champions members recieve extra swag on Dash Day.

Where do I park on race morning?

Click here to view all the parking lot options, information about shuttles and directions to the event. Volunteers in red t-shirts with The ALS Association logo will be available throughout the grounds and surrounding area, so please ask them for assistance if needed.
 

What about the weather?

We live in the BOLD North, so rain, sunshine, or snow, we will be Dashing out ALS. Dress accordingly for (hopefully) spring weather. In the event we experience severe weather, updates will be communicated.

Where/when should donations be submitted?

As you begin collecting donations, we encourage you to send all contributions to The ALS Association MN/ND/SD office prior to Dash Day. However, there are other options for submitting donations:

Encourage online donations! Online donations are made directly to your personal Dash web page and are instantly attributed to your fundraising goal. No additional steps are necessary.
Bring all your donations to the registration area on Dash Day. Collect contributions from friends and family members, record their names and donation amounts and submit in the envelope provided on Dash Day.
All donations received after Dash Day should be mailed to The ALS Association office.

Letter-Writing Campaigns

One of the most effective (and easiest) ways to raise money is to launch a letter-writing campaign. Participants who launch a letter-writing or email campaign typically raise 5 to 10 times more money than participants using other methods of collecting donations.

I Forgot My Username and Password

Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. Click here to find your password. You will receive an email with your username and password. Email john.cronin@als.org for additional technical assistance.

How Do I Change My Username and/or Password?

First, login to the site using your username and password. Once logged in you will see a link at the top of the page called "Update My Profile". Once in your profile, you will be able to update your contact information, e-mail address, preferences, username and password. All changes will be made to your account immediately. There is no need to sign in again. Email john.cronin@als.org for additional technical assistance.

Is My Personal Information Secure?

Convio, the company that powers The ALS Association Online Donation System, makes every effort to protect your personal contact and credit card information. They use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure your credit card information, passwords and personal information travel securely over the Internet. Convio also installed an encryption engine on our database server so your data is securely stored within our offices as well.

How are Credit Card Transactions Handled?

Credit card information is not stored in our database. During the donation process, we send an individual’s credit card information to an online processing terminal using a secure connection. The information passed back is an approval or denial for the credit card donation.
