R. Michael Kruger Memorial
Established by the brothers of ΛΧΑ (MIT 67’)
Whether one called him Mike or Michael, this gentle man led an exemplary life. He was passionate about his family, grateful for his host of friends, loyal, honorable, charitable, and kind. With deep sadness and extraordinary grace, Mike accepted the ALS diagnosis of 2018, knowing that the pattern of his life and that of his devoted wife and caregiver, Suzanne, would become fully altered. Yet, the two of them together with the support of their two sons and spouses and extended family persevered in love to cope with the challenges that became more formidable with the passage of time until the peaceful end of Mike’s journey.
After lengthy years of research, so much remains unknown about the cause of ALS, the terminal disease that affects nerve cells and muscles. From start to finish, the disease is a test to the human spirit and requires abundant courage to face the physical changes that evolve as days march onward. Mike believed that life was a gift, and he found joy from that gift in the young lives of his four grandsons and granddaughter.
For certain, Mike was the type of guy whose goal would be to raise the hope of others in finding a cure for ALS and to conquer the devastating effects of the disease. Therefore, let his memory be our inspiration to make a generous gift to the R. Michael Kruger Memorial. In testimony and appreciation for a life well lived, I hope that you will join us in giving by clicking the donation button to the right.
