Carola Gumucio, our much beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend was born on December 29th, 1958, and was diagnosed with ALS at age 53 in November of 2012. Her experience with the illness was short; it progressed rapidly, and she passed away on June 14, 2013.

We remember Carola most poignantly not as someone who was sick, but as someone who was very much alive and energetic, an energy she strove to maintain as much as possible even as the illness progressed. She was, and still is--though not with us in bodily form, but very much present through the love she shared and continues to share with us--active as a person; she continuously acted on her concern for others, constantly giving and sharing of herself with her friends and family.

It is this legacy of action, imparted to us from Carola, that we intend to keep alive through this memorial fund. In perpetual memory of Carola, all that she gives and continues to give to us, please consider making a contribution.
