Jim Aretakis is a co-worker and a friend to many of us.  Jim's dedication to the profession of tax and to GM, then GMAC, then Ally has always been obvious.  However, that dedication has been accentuated with the progression of ALS on his ability to talk.  Despite that growing limitation, he has continued to demonstrate his commitment to his colleagues, to Ally, and to his profession.  When he should have been thinking only of himself, he continued to care about whether we thought of all of the important issues and made sure our analysis was right - helping us to prepare for the day when he would stop coming into the office.  Now that the day has come, we realize that we will miss his smile and his humor far more than any of that. Those of you who have worked with him over the years would expect nothing less.
