As most of you know, I lost my wonderful father, Tom Ryan, to ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) several weeks ago.
ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) is a rapidly progressive, ultimately fatal neurological disease that attacks the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscles. It causes people to lose their strength; their ability to move their arms, legs, and body; and, ultimately, their ability to breathe on their own.
With no known cause or cure, ALS is a devastating disease that tests the strength and spirit of everyone it touches.
My Dad faced Lou Gehrig's Disease with a remarkable combination of grace, dignity, faith, and courage. In honor of my Dad and so many others, I am raising money for the ALS Association, which is leading the fight to treat and cure ALS while providing compassionate care and support to those who suffer from this horrible disease.
Please consider making a donation to the Tom Ryan Memorial Fund. With your generous support, we can help those suffering with ALS and work to discover a cure.
With love,
Kara Vinton
