Robert Dayton's Fund
Established by Suzanne Delaware
Greater Sacramento

Robert Dayton of Merced, California has lived his life serving others. Born and educated in Ohio, Bob moved to Merced in 1968 where he taught 5th and 8th graders for over 30 years. Always a caring teacher, he served his students and his school well.

Upon retirement, Bob was able to enjoy his great passion for photography--traveling many places to take those awe inspiring photos. He was an active member of the Merced Camera Club and was always willing to help with the many tasks required for exhibitions, shows, etc. His photos can be found on his website and many have sold commercially.

Until the onset of ALS, Bob contributed many, many volunteer hours working for his church and for community charity organizations.

Bob was diagnosed with ALS in late fall of 2012. His friends have rallied round to assist and help him just as he has always assisted others. Cards featuring his photos are being sold with all donations going to the ALS organization.

Sadly, Bob passed away on July 11, 2014. A beautiful service celebrating his life was held on July 18, 2014. No one who knew him will ever forget his sweet spirit and the courage he demonstrated to the very end.
