If you have a soul that heeds the spirit of adventure, nothing is more devastating than to be diagnosed with ALS.

Lisa and I met over the attraction of having a spirit of adventure in us and we had so many adventures together, but not near enough. Although we gave up on each other for 5 years, there was never any doubt that we would approach her ALS together. The ugliest of diseases brought us together again only to be seperated too soon again through death. Lisa was vibrant at 54 and passed when she was 56.

It is my hope to perpetuate her memory of loving and living life by racing in Baja for 1000 miles in May. We will help to DEFEAT ALS and Race for Lisa. Would you come along for the ride, please? I broke my back 4 months before Lisa passed in an off-road accident that totaled the car. I didn't think I would pursue off-road again, however, the Spirit of Adventure can drive us all on the path of our choosing to overcome obstacles in life. To that end, the car is rebuilt, and at 65, I am rebuilt as I can be to live and race for Lisa.

We need to let people with ALS know they are not alone.  ALS affects more than nerve cells and muscles. It affects families, friends, co-workers, and communities. 

With no known cause or cure, ALS challenges the human spirit and tests the courage of everyone touched by this devastating disease.

However, we can work together to create a Community of Hope that restores dreams and builds courage.  Our community gives strength and hope to our loved ones, neighbors, and friends facing the fear and uncertainty of ALS.
