Hello friends and family!
On November 4, 2017, so many of you gathered with us at the Fort Worth Walk to Defeat ALS. Many more of you donated and helped us raise over $57,000 for The ALS Association of Texas. Your generosity and support has energized our family and we want to keep pushing for a world without ALS. The ALS Association is the global leader in funding research, improving quality of life for those living with ALS, and ensuring our elected officials prioritize the needs of ALS families. We are confident this full ecosystem approach will find treatments and an eventual cure for ALS.
Through this site we hope to continue to raise money and awareness to fight this horrible desase.
The timing seems right to bring back Team Tom and set it on an everlasting path as Tom has decided to retire after more than 36 wonderful and successful years in banking. His retirement comes on the heels of a devastating ALS diagnosis last spring. But thanks to all of you, Tom’s resolve is as strong as ever to fight this disease and make a difference.
ALS is a fatal neuromuscular disease. Voluntary muscles atrophy, and walking, talking and eventually breathing are compromised. All the while, the mind remains completely aware. Families face costs upwards of $100,000 per year and can be overwhelmed by the bureaucracy of insurance companies, caregiving and doctor visits.
For nearly 40 years, Tom has dedicated his life to being a respected businessman, husband and father. He built a reputation of integrity, tenacity, and commitment. Starting in February 2018, he will apply that same fervor and passion to a new mission: creating a world without ALS. We ask you to join him by donating to this fund. Thank you for all of your support, love, and encouragement. We are so grateful.
Our love and appreciation,
Nancy, Aimee, Emily, Zak and Grayson
About the ALS Association of Texas
The ALS Association is the only national nonprofit completely dedicated to fighting ALS. The Texas Chapter focuses our resources on helping patients across the state by addressing the entire ALS ecosystem: providing local care to support patients who need help now, advocating for public policy that serves the needs of patients, and investing in research to find treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
