Thank you for helping me reach my Walk to Defeat ALS® fundraising goal! I am walking in memory of my sister Jean Ann. She was diagnosed with ALS in late 2008 and ended her battle with this terrible disease in early 2011. Though ALS took her ability to walk, talk, and eventually breathe, she always remained my funny, loving big sister.

The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. I can say from personal experience that the ALS Association provides vital services to people with ALS and their families, including counseling and support groups, education, assistive technology, and of course research for a cure.

The past few years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families. But presently there is still no known cause or cure, so we can't stop now. Please consider walking with me or sponsoring me.
