Hi, Everyone --
The DC Walk to Defeat ALS is Saturday, October 14th, 2023. I apologize for my lack of communication on the Walk thus far. What a year we have had!
You know this Walk is important to our family, because my husband, Ben Flowe, has been pushing back against his ALS diagnosis for 9 years! He is AMAZING!! Ben always sees his glass as half full. He remains an active partner in his law practice and his days always reflect his positive attitude.
Please consider joining our Walk team, My Mind is My Weapon (MMiMW), either in person or virtually. Our goal is $40,000. It is a big goal, but it helps so many ALS patients in our DC/MD/VA community push back against their diagnosis. It also adds to the ALS Association's ability to partner with cutting edge research towards a defeat of this disease. Helping our community and furthering research each year is paramount to our family, but we cannot meet the goal alone. We need and we deeply appreciate any help you can offer our team.
Event: DC's Walk to Defeat ALS
Date: Saturday, October 14th, 2023
Place: The Washington Monument
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Link to the Team: http://web.alsa.org/goto/mymindismyweapon
Search by Team and register under Ben. He's more organized than me this year. If you run into issues, don't hesitate to reach out to Kaitlin Shore, of the ALS Association. She can help you with any website problems: kaitlin.shore@als.org
On the morning of the Walk, look for the My Mind is My Weapon tent. We have t-shirts, if you need them, and we will have DunkinDonut coffee, too.
Thank you for your unwavering support of this perplexing disease and of our DC/MD/VA community of ALS patients and caregivers. Each year, we come closer to a cure and to more effective treatments.
Best,
Peg Flowe
