My beautiful cousin Kathy was diagnosed with ALS 4 1/2 years ago. It has robbed her of the use of her arms and legs, but she is continuing to fight this horrible disease with all the "grit and grace" she can. ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
