It seems impossible that over 3 years have passed since Richard died. His joy and his laughter continue to echo through our lives. His deep desire to contribute to the efforts of researchers remains with me. He embraced every opportunity to advance research into a cure for ALS and to increase awareness of this devastating disease.
Richard dealt with the terrible reality that came with his ALS while still embracing the gifts that life brought him in the form of family, friends and colleagues. He lived his life to the end with a full bandwidth of joy. You helped him do this. It is difficult to sustain involvement in a cause that seems to offer so little hope of long term survival. That is the urgency in my request for your support this year. The Golden West Chapter of the ALS Association provides vital support to the families living with ALS now and for the researchers working towards a cure.
