My husband, Ken, was diagnosed with ALS in August 2023 after about a year of “ruling out” many things that could be causing him various random health issues.  Our lives hit a wall for a minute but by the grace of God we are getting back on our feet so to speak.  We have slowed down, spending lots of time at our lake, being grateful for each day as it comes.  

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.  ALS can strike anyone.
