Our dear, incredible sister Janet lost her valiant battle with ALS on Sunday, August 25. We are now walking with more determination than ever to remember Janet and to raise awareness and funds to combat this horrific disease.
Since February we have watched Janet battle her condition with dignity, grace, and a very positive attitude. We have watched her family sacrifice everything to be by her side. They are the four most amazing caregivers we have ever seen. No child or spouse deserves to go through all that they have endured. Funds raised in the Walk also go to ALS caregiver support and now more than ever, after witnessing what Janet's family has gone through, we clearly realize how much this type of support is needed.
It is with a renewed effort that we encourage you to walk with us or donate to the ALS Walk in October.
Janet was one of a kind, a very special person. She was so loved by her husband Mark, her three children, Katharine, Dan, and Ned, her daughters-in-law, Julie and Louisa and of course her adorable grandson, Jack as well as by her six siblings and their spouses. Let us continue to demonstrate our love for Janet on October 20, 2024. Go Team Positive Vibes Only!!!
ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
