We walk the Mankato Walk to Defeat ALS again this year for the eigth time without our beloved, team captain and founder, Corinne Marlee Brown, whose 7 year inspirational battle with ALS ended with her peaceful passing August 27, 2015.

On behalf of the family and friends of Corinne, we ask you to join us to honor her life by raising money and awareness to fight ALS. There is no doubt she will be smiling down on us and excited to see us continue the battle against ALS that she fought so bravely as one of the top fundraisers for this same walk for the 5 years she served as team captain and our inspiration. Corinne enjoyed her coffee hot, beer cold, and stereo loud. She lived her life – especially after her ALS diagnosis – with grace and beauty. She didn’t complain. Instead she worked to raise money to find a cure so that others would not have to go through what she was going through. She welcomed everybody with a smile. Her legacy, her faith, and her grace will live on in each of us. She blessed so many people through the way she lived her life and through the grace with which she dealt with the debilitating disease, ALS. We thank God that when Corinne left this life she joined Him in heaven where she is now able to walk and run and turn the music up as loud as she wants with her own hand.

Last year with the amazing generosity of our friends, family and supporters "Gus Freinds" in the 2022 Mankato Walk to Defeat ALS. "Gus Freinds"  raised over $14,000 in support of the work of the Minnesota, North and South Dakota Chapter of the ALS Association to bring support and advocacy for ALS patients and their families and most importantly supporting the research efforts to find a cure to end the reign of terror of this devastating disease. Since Corinne started team "Gus Freinds" back in 2011, we have raised over $144,000 in the fight against ALS.  We hope you will join us again as we fight the fight to kick some serious ALS ass. Pardon the vernacular but this disease ain't pretty. In memory of Corinne and all who have lost their life to this disease, in honor of those living with ALS today the need is now.
