The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure. Last year we raised over $7,000. Let see if we can beat it this year!
This year we are partnering with the Ron Michels Golf Tournament at Bluff Creek Golf Course in Chaska on Wednesday, September 4. This is a fun event with a lot of Ronny Rules. If you are interested in golfing, let me know and we can get you added to the list. If you cannot make if for golf or do not want to golf you can still come out after 4 for food and drinks. Just let me know if you are coming. Contact info below. (Ron and I will be there after 4 -- we are not golfing)
We will be walking at the Mall of America on Saturday, September 7th, please contact me if you are interested in walking. Call, text or email 612-812-7504 or debmichels59@gmail.com.
Ron was diagnosed December 2020 and is fighting the good fight. Your help and support mean a lot to him. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
That's why I'm walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To ensure that no one ever hears the words: 'You Have ALS' again.
Please consider walking with me or someone on our team. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease.
