Who we are
Welcome to Karen's Krew! This is our 7th year of Walking to Defeat ALS!. This will be our FIRST MEMORIAL WALK to honor Karen Rehling ALS WARRIOR! Karen was not able to see the CURE for ALS. She fought the good fight to do all she could do to DEFEAT ALS but ALS Defeated her on 11/24/2024, Six years and one week since her diagnosis. We will keep walking until a cure is found to help the thousands of others diagnosed every year with this cruel disease. We know the urgency to find effective treatments to make ALS a livable disease and ultimately a cure but we have no time to wait! Please consider joining our team to walk with us and/or make a donation. Together we will make a difference! We know KAREN DID!
Why We Need Your Help
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
