Raising money for ALS is very near and dear to me and if you have joined Team Rennae, I know it is to you too! My mom Rennae Fuzzey was diagnosed with ALS in July 2013. I watched my mom live this horrific disease every day for a year. She lost her ability to be independent. She struggled with everyday tasks such as eating, putting on make up, showering and getting dressed. I watched her wake up and realize that each day she lost the ability to do something else. Eventually she went from walking, to a cane, to a walker, and to a wheelchair. While I know she was crushed Inside, she put on a very brave face and lived each day with a positive attitude and love for life. My mom loved her family and friends, but she enjoyed her two grandkids so much and she hated that she could not even pick them up or read them a story. This crushed her! My mom was about to loose the ability to speak, she was very difficult to understand and hear. Sadly just 13 months after her first diagnosis of ALS her breathing was affected and she passed away at the age of 64 with family surrounding her. ALS is such a cruel disease. This disease affects not only the patient but the families that have to watch their loved ones suffer. I urge you to donate to ALS so we can wipe out this disease. My mom passed away just weeks shy of the ALS walk last year! She loved watching the donations come in and the totals rise! I promised her I would continue to fight for a cure! Please help me make that happen! Thank you for your support!

Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
