Thank you for helping me reach my Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising goal! The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.

ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.

The reason I started doing these walks was when we learned Nancy had been diagnosed with ALS. Nancy is a remarkable person (seen above helping my wife deal with loss from another dreadful disease) 
 
After participating in this event I found out my childhood next door neighbor had a son diagnosed with this disease at age 27 and in 2001 went on to found ALS Foundation for life in Massachusetts, which ended up being a Jeopardy question (You should be able to see by toggling the photo above)

We have found effective treatments for HIV but it’s been 85 years since Lou Gehrig made his speech. We need something Now! And people think we are getting close.
